Here's One Pose to Help You Sleep Better Tonight!
Legs Up The Wall Pose: This is a great one to do in bed or on the ground, wherever you have some space available (where you won’t knock down pictures by throwing your legs up the wall ;) ). Start out seated with one hip next to a wall. Place your hands down on the ground (or bed) and start to bring your legs up the wall. It might feel good to have them straight up. It might feel better to bring them out like a V. Whatever feels good to you is just fine.
Scoot your hips as close to the wall as it feels good. If you like, you can have a blanket under your hips if they feel a little tight.
Benefits of this pose are similar to inversions but in a bit calmer way so you don’t have to get up into a headstand. It helps relieve the flow of gravity on your whole system. It helps to calm your nervous system and quiet your mind, part of the reason it is said to help you sleep better! One caution is if you have high or low blood pressure or if you are pregnant, this pose may not be for you today. Let me know what you think of it!
